Squad
X has intentionally left the Rules and Regulations to a minimum. The
Squad's number one rule is to have fun, and adding too many restrictions
afterwards may decrease the "fun factor" that is at the heart
of our #1 rule. However, there are some standards that must be put in
place to ensure that EVERYONE involved has fun while playing together.
1.
Have fun. Just not at the expense of others.
2.
Act professionally at all times. Once you have an "X" tag
behind your name, you represent ALL of your fellow squad mates. The
way you act while wearing your tag reflects upon every member in Squad
X. Leave a good impression, others from X will be treated with respect
from players they've never met- leave a bad impression, and members
will be treated poorly for no apparent reason.
a.
Within the game: This rule does not mean to prevent someone from
verbal self-defense. If another player or squad begins an
"open-season" on you, the squad, your weapon, role,
mother, dog, sister, distant cousin, etc., I, nor any other member
of X expect you to take it in the spirit representing the squad
well. Any member of X will back you when you "return fire"
on someone who doesn't have the good graces to keep his opinions to
himself.
b.
Within the Squad X Infrastructure: Treat your teammates with
respect. These are the people you play with frequently, and are
expected to work together as a unit. Internal strife leads to
problems at the worst possible times. Should there be a conflict
between members, please resolve quickly, and bring in CO's to
assist, if needed. Treat those who have taken on "jobs"
within the squad structure with understanding. The purpose of
putting a squad together is to ENHANCE the fun of everybody
involved. Those who have taken on "jobs" immediately lose
some of that enhancement by removing some of the game time they
could have by placing themselves behind the scenes to assist in
keeping things running smoothly. The squad work is just that...work. We must keep in mind that most (if not all) of the members who have
taken on these responsibilities have a job already, and use the game
as a release. If the "job" becomes a JOB, we endanger the
structure in place.
3.
Those found cheating within the Squad will be immediately dismissed,
when irrefutable evidence is offered.
a.
Definition of cheating:
i.
Use of any enhancement or code that gives distinct advantages to
the player. (IE: trainers.)
b.
Please avoid:
i.
Using game-glitches. (IE: shooting through walls, etc...) It is
preferred that the squad avoids using the many different
game-glitches found in the game. However, disciplinary action will
not be taken against those using them UNLESS in squad matches or
tournaments. The two beliefs behind this are as follows:
1.
The group of players that make up Squad X are much more talented
than needing to rely on game-glitches to achieve their
objective.
2.
If NovaLogic did not want them used, they should have taken the
time, either before the game was released, or via patch to
correct these errors.
c. Any infraction
of rules and regulations will result in panel of CO's picked by
Hathcock (AcesNEights) to decide penalties up to and including
dismissal from Squad X.
4.
Chain of Command is to be followed at all times. Although the rank
system has been removed, the new system does show Term of Service. Please keep in mind that those listed as Founding Members do know and
have seen how many conflicts should be/ have been resolved. Rely on
their knowledge of the foundation of Squad X to help guide and assist
you with any questions. Orders are rarely given within the squad---If
one is issued, there is a reason behind it; please follow through. Those refusing orders or those found to be abusing their membership
status are subject to disciplinary action by a selected group of CO's.
a.
The new "Rank" system.
i.
Founding Members (FM): Those that have been here since before
"DF2". If you were not with us before DF2 was released then you are not a Founding Member and FM status cannot
be achieved.
1.
Commanding Officers (CO): Any FM who has taken on a "job"
within the squad.
ii.
Executive Members (EM): Those that have been with the squad for a
6 month tour of duty, with no disciplinary action on record.
1.
Junior Officers (JO): Any EM that has taken on a "job"
within the squad.
iii.
Members: Those that have joined the squad and up through the end
of their 6 month tour of duty. There is no "Officer"
status for those taking on "jobs" as a Member. The
benefit of taking on a "job" within the squad as a
member lies within the fact that those Members with jobs shall
have their Tour of Duty reduced by half to enter EM
status; and JO status, should they continue on with their
responsibilities.

New
Divisional System
As
a constantly evolving unit, Squad X has recently changed the original
divisional set-up from one that split us into infantry and sniper
divisions, to one that reflects the addition of the new DF games (DF4, DF5, etc.) to the Delta Force/
Squad X world. Since the arrival of the new versions and releases, members may be split on
which versions they play. Squad X has made the attempt to remain involved in
all games (after DF2) by having a different division for each release. Some members will reside in more
than one division depending on their personal preferences, computer system and software purchases. This
divisional system, while being separate units, will allow SquadX to stay involved with each other, despite the
changes.
There
shall be one primary division (PD) for each release (X3, X4, etc.) each reflecting the
players' option of which game they prefer.
Each
of the main divisions shall have a separate operating structure to
handle the day-to-day operations.
Divisional
System Rules (Primary Divisions or PDs)
1.
Division Membership is decided by the member of Squad X, dependant
upon which game they prefer, and is NOT assigned; although it can be
recommended during recruitment to the possible new member in order to
afford them the most possible game-time.
2. Division represents the players' choice for Matches/ Tournaments ONLY. Membership in one of the PDs does not preclude that player from
joining in any other informal game through NovaWorld, Public Games, or an
"X Server" as part of Squad X.
3.
A Day-to-Day Operations Committee or Divisional CO shall be appointed
to handle the division. Each division should be fully functional as a
stand-alone unit should the need arise and assistance from other Squad
CO's is not available. Each member with a "job" within the
division should be able to fulfill their duties to the best of their
abilities, and should allot proper time to the "job" they
selected. If assistance is needed, then the division should have the
"job" broken down further to allow for smoother operations. The "job" descriptions are listed as such:
a.
Day-to-Day Ops: (1-4 members per division) Overall functionality of
the division. The members of the DtD team should be "jacks of
all trades," willing to assist with various other jobs and
tasks, including, but not limited to: Research and Development,
Recruitment, Divisional Communication, etc...DtD team reports
directly to Hathcock (or a replacement in his stead,) with
recommendations and reports on division development.
b.
Research and Development: (1-2 members per division) Researches
available tournaments, and other Squads; tracks and communicates with those that challenge us through the
online forum, follows through with making
and setting up Squad X into those M/T's.
c.
Recruitment: (1-2 members per division) Recruitment team reviews
possible new members, through a combination of in-game play and through requests in the Squad
X message board. Recruitment Team should also discuss with other division members the performance and
attitude of the recruit during in-game play within the appropriate division forum board.
4.
Divisional Size:
a.
Although no official size is determined for each division, it should
be kept to a manageable limit.
b. Our goal is not to have the most
members in each division but to have the best quality based on attitude, playing skills, attitude, and
most importantly attitude.
============================
Term
of Service
Term
of Service shall reflect the members' time within Squad X. It is
expected that starting from a recruit and on up through the term spent
with Squad X, members continuously learn about how the way the Squad is
handled, therefore being able to be accessed as a resource for new
recruits.
1.
Member is defined as a recruit on through a 6 month Tour of Duty.
Those Members having taken on "jobs," performed them
satisfactorily, along with a clean "record" (no disciplinary
action), within the division or squad structure, will have their Tour
of Duty reduced to 3 months before achieving Executive Member status.
2.
Executive Member status is reached after the 6 month Tour of Duty has
been achieved. (3 months if criteria listed in 1 is also achieved.) If
the Executive Member takes on, or continues his/ her responsibilities,
they shall also be recognized as a Junior Officer.
3. Founding Members are those members of Squad X that have been here since before the release of DF2. Most, if not all, have been
members since Squad X's inception. Those that have taken on
"jobs" will be recognized as a Commanding Officer (FM status
CANNOT be achieved). However, Commanding Officer status can be assigned
to Junior Officers through continuous effort and exemplary work in
their "job".
It
is important to note that everybody has a voice in Squad X, regardless
of membership and job status. The membership status can be called on,
when needed, for things such as future policy changes, Squad direction,
and disciplinary action. It is expected that any member in the higher
status tree does not attempt to abuse any PERCEIVED sense of power their
status may indicate.
